Traveling I-10 West:
Take Exit #237, Elysian Fields. Turn LEFT at the stop light. Turn RIGHT at Esplanade Avenue. (Esplanade is almost to the end of Elysian Fields. It’s a wide boulevard with large oak trees in the median.) Drive 5 blocks to Dauphine Street, and turn RIGHT. Dauphine curves to the right. (Note that when you turn onto Dauphine Street, the addresses jump from the 1400’s to the 1800’s for no reason! There are no 1500, 1600, or 1700’s!) 1830 Dauphine is on the right. Look for the colorful house with the purple front door.
Traveling I-10 East:
Exit #236, Esplanade Avenue. Turn RIGHT at the stop light. You are now on Esplanade Avenue. Drive through the next major intersection, crossing Rampart Street. Continue 2 more blocks and turn LEFT onto Dauphine Street. Dauphine is a one-way street that curves to the right. (Note that when you turn onto Dauphine Street, the addresses jump from the 1400’s to the 1800’s for no reason! There are no 1500, 1600, or 1700’s!) 1830 Dauphine is on the right.
